GEO GRAVITY

DESCRIPTION

A 2.5D Platformer game where it takes place in a universe where animals are geometric forms and the laws of gravity do not behave normally, Geo is a cube puppy that got lost and is now trying to make its way back home. He will have to go through different worlds and face new creatures to be able to do so.

Core Pillars
My main role in this project served as a Game Designer and Level Designer. 
Apart from our main roles, we all had interchangeable duties and contributions such as
coding, animating, and Game Design lead.  

The main mechanics of the game is that the player is able to switch their point of gravity while learning to facilitate floating through the air. Each one of the animals is put in a situation where you wouldn’t normally find them in real life. In addition to that, they each have a very specific set of skills that affect the way the player interacts with them.

Level Design
With the animal platforms having different mechanics, my teammate and I being in charge of level design wanted to ideally sketch out how the movement of Geo would go about in the world. With the clouds being a border to prevent falling out of the world, we also made it so that the animal platforms help players progress into the world.
 

Level 1: Turtles would move horizontally (left and right). Their shells would act as a flat platform for players to get used to moving on with the world. 
Level 2: Sunny Whales would come in different sizes as they move up and down. The roundness would act as a slight difficulty as it may roll off Geo into the cloud borders. 
Level 3: Thunder Penguins are shaped triangularly. This would be the third difficulty that players wou
ld have to learn to move around in ways they are not used to. Not to mention, their beaks serve as a purpose where if they hit it, they would have to restart. Potentially, the beaks would get longer or shorter. 

Level 4: A mixture of all three animals to increase difficulty
